   तीसरा, रिपब्लिकन द्वारा ओबामा की आलोचना से इजरायल के प्रति व्यवहार का पता लगाने की ओर मूलभूत परिवर्तन का संकेत होता है। किसी समय मजहब मुख्य तत्व था परंतु अब यहूदी, कट्टर इजरायलवादी और ईसाई कम संलिप्त है। इसके विपरीत आज निर्णायक दृष्टिकोण राजनीतिक भावभंगिमा है। इजरायल के प्रति किसी का विचार जानने के लिये किसी से प्रश्न पूछने की आवश्यकता नहीं है कि , “ आपका मजहब क्या है? वरन ” आप राष्ट्रपति से क्या चाहते हैं?“ एक नियम के तौर पर परम्परावादी इजरायल के प्रति अधिक गर्मजोशी दिखाते हैं और उदारवादी कहीं ठन्डे दिखते हैं। जनमत सर्वेक्षणों से दिखता है कि परम्परावादी रिपब्लिकन अधिक कट्टर इजरायलवादी हैं और इनके उपरांत सामान्य रिपब्लिकन का क्रम आता है डेमोक्रेट और उदारवादी डेमोक्रेट का क्रम सबसे अंत में आता है। सत्य है न्यूयार्क शहर के पूर्व मेयर एड कोच ने भी सितम्बर 2011 में कहा था कि ” ओबामा ने इजरायल को संकट में डाल दिया है” परंतु कोच डेमोक्रेट की वृद्ध पीढी का प्रतिनिधित्व करते हैं। राजनीतिक दलों के मध्य अरब इजरायल संघर्ष को लेकर मतभेद आर्थिक और सांस्कृतिक मुद्दों से कहीं अधिक गहरा होता जा रहा है।
